Characteristics
High strength and high modulus: Aramid fiber has extremely high strength. Its weight-specific tensile strength is six times that of steel wire, three times that of glass fiber, and twice that of high-strength nylon industrial filament. The tensile modulus of aramid cable is three times that of steel wire, twice that of glass fiber, and ten times that of high-strength nylon industrial filament. Under the same diameter, the strength of aramid cable is five to six times that of steel wire rope, and its modulus is two to three times that of steel wire rope.
Good high-temperature resistance: Aramid has an extremely wide continuous service temperature range. It can operate normally for a long time within the range of -196 ℃ to 204℃. Its shrinkage rate is 0 at 150℃, and it does not decompose or melt at a high temperature of 560℃.
Light weight: The density of aramid cables is approximately 1.44g/cm³, which is significantly lighter than traditional cables such as steel cables, making them convenient for transportation, installation and use.
Good insulation: Aramid fibers have excellent electrical insulation properties, effectively preventing current conduction and can be used in situations where insulation is required.
Strong corrosion resistance: Aramid fibers are not eroded by corrosive substances such as water, oil, acid, and alkali. They can maintain stable performance in various harsh chemical environments and are suitable for highly corrosive environments such as Marine and chemical industries.
Excellent dimensional stability: Under different temperature and humidity conditions, the dimensional change of aramid cables is extremely small, and they can always maintain a stable shape and length, ensuring accuracy and reliability during use.
Fire resistance and flame retardancy: Aramid fibers have inherent flame retardancy. Their limiting oxygen index (LOI) value is greater than 28%. They will not spontaneously combite, melt or produce droplets in the air. They self-extinguish when removed from the flame, effectively preventing the spread of fire.
